Ostomy clinics are one of the most important elements of the Group’s work. Clinics have been held with the help of ostomy appliance makers and Mulvihill Drug Mart, one of the major appliance suppliers in Renfrew County. More recently, the Group has teamed up with Carefor Health and Community Services. The clinics are all run by a Nurse Specializing in Wounds, Ostomies and Continence (NSWOC).

Clinic dates and locations

To be announced as clinics are scheduled.

The Ostomy Support Group convenes semi-annual meetings where ostomates are brought together to address problems, provide education and discuss experiences in a safe non-judgemental environment. The meetings include presentations from health care professionals and suppliers, but the best outcomes have come from informal discussions following the meetings where ostomates can share experiences and pass on their successful coping strategies.
